Every race weekend begins long before the first car reaches the circuit. Equipment arrives. Systems are tested. People prepare spaces that will soon fill with visitors.
All around them, Las Vegas keeps moving. Built on Light follows the people creating the event and those living alongside it — from preparation to the work that continues after the crowds leave.
We already have
the beginning.
Our team filmed the preparations for the inaugural race in 2023 — including the lighting installation, testing, and an on-location interview with DZ Engineering leadership filmed on circuit.
We now want to return to the people behind that work and ask what has changed.

We want to show what happens behind the scenes — the marshals, crews and coordinators whose work is invisible to the crowd but holds the entire event together.
This is the FIA garage in 2025: the same people, three years on, in a race that has become part of the city's identity.

Las Vegas adapts, transforms, and absorbs a Formula 1 Grand Prix as if it were always part of the plan. Residents, businesses, the Sphere, the Strip.

We have been
here before.
Our team documented the ArenaVision lighting installation with Cooper Lighting Solutions and DZ Engineering at the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix in 2023.
The project was recognised with a 2025 LIT Lighting Design Award in Sport Lighting Systems, credited to ArenaVision · Cooper Lighting Solutions · DZ Engineering · 4P Creative.
